San Francisco's Cuisine Scene
The City by the Bay has always played to its own tune having been the birthplace of organic and farm fresh ingredients. Between the exalted parents of new American cuisines – Thomas Keller and Alice Waters – we have the crucible of what the sustainable yet delicious gourmet environment has evolved into.
Don’t believe us? Ask Irene Virbila the resident restaurant reviewer at LA Times who recently quoted, “If the restaurants I sampled on a six-day jaunt to San Francisco are any indication, the food scene there is on fire. Every meal I had was noteworthy … The even better news is that many are quite affordable, fun and blessed with an exuberant and bright spirit”. Now if a critic from a rival city can be this full or praise then we hope you will be as well!

Featured Neighborhoods
Union Square
- One of San Francisco's main retail and cultural centers, Union Square also refers to the actual park bordered by Geary, Powell, Post and Stockton streets.
- Did you know that it was named after the pro union rallies that were held there during the Civil war and that it is third largest shopping district in the world.
- Though it widely rumored that Tony Bennett may have left his heart near the Union Square, we strive to fill make our tours as heart warming as possible.
Mission District
- “The Mission” as the locals loving call this neighborhood is known for its vibrant culture, colorful murals and artistic spirit which is experiencing a second coming with an exciting array of gourmet establishments.
- Did you know that though The Mission has a fairly high population density (over 30,000 people per square mile), there are very few large apartment buildings which help in preserving its historical heritage
- Though the scientific basis of the assertion is widely disputed, The Mission is said to have a warmer “micro-climate” which makes it ideal for our fun walking tour within the same.
The Marina
- The Marina is located on the northern waterfront of the city with an ever expanding selection of eclectic food establishments that are pushing the gourmet envelope of the city
- Did you know that Irish coffee was invented in San Francisco and today the city boasts over three hundred coffee houses within the boundaries of the city
- Even though much of the Marina is built upon former landfill, our tours are designed to fill your sense of gourmet adventure and foodie escapades.
